Superintendent Search: Community Input Meetings

The Central Unified School District Board of Trustees is asking for your help in selecting our next superintendent.
To ensure this is a collaborative and inclusive process, students, staff, parents, and members of the public are invited to the below meetings to participate in this process. This meeting is an opportunity to provide input about the desired personal and professional qualities anticipated in the incoming superintendent.

State Testing

Hello, parents and guardians.

Central Unified students in grades 3 through 8 and high school will soon participate in the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress, or CAASPP, tests.

Your child will take one or more of the following tests, depending on their grade level:

the Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments in English language arts and mathematics for grades 3 through 8 and 11, and/or
the California Science Test for grades 5, 8 and 11

Students with significant cognitive disabilities in grades 3 through 8 and 11 will take the California Alternative Assessments for English language arts and mathematics, and science for grades 5, 8 and 11.

These online tests include many different types of questions to measure what students know and are able to do.  The results help identify gaps in knowledge or skills so your child can get the support needed to be successful. For information on specific dates and times when your child will take the tests, or to opt-out, please contact their school.
